In 1911, the company was founded when Anton Reifenhäuser opened a small forge in Troisdorf, Germany. His sons later made it their dream to shape Reifenhäuser into a successful machinery manufacturer. With the sale of the first extruder in 1948, this dream was realized. The story of Reifenhäuser's international success began.

Shaping the future: Reifenhäuser invests over 30 million euro and establishes the largest privately operated technology center for research and development in the plastics extrusion industry.
Best of Two for blown film lines: In the midst of the financial and economic crisis, Reifenhäuser acquires its former Worms-based competitor Kiefel Extrusion, and establishes the joint company Reifenhäuser Kiefel Extrusion.
Reifenhäuser celebrates its 100th anniversary.
Consistent continuation of the restructuring process: The two business units of Reifenhäuser Extrusion are divided into the independent companies Reifenhäuser Cast Sheet Coating and Reifenhäuser Extrusion Technology.
Strengthening the North American market for screws and barrels: Reifenhäuser acquires Wichita-based Westland Corporation which becomes a part of the Business Unit Reiloy and operates under the name Reiloy Westland.
Reifenhäuser acquires the Italian winder manufacturer Nuova Protex. The company operates as of now under the name Reimotec Winding Technology as part of the Business Unit Reimotec.
