In 1911, the company was founded when Anton Reifenhäuser opened a small forge in Troisdorf, Germany. His sons later made it their dream to shape Reifenhäuser into a successful machinery manufacturer. With the sale of the first extruder in 1948, this dream was realized. The story of Reifenhäuser's international success began.

Reifenhäuser ventures into its future business field: The first Reifenhäuser extruder for the processing of thermoplastic materials was presented.
1958
Reifenhäuser is gaining global importance: with 35 representations abroad and an export share of 54 percent of its total production.
1960
Reifenhäuser is expanding: A production hall of 3000m² is built and a 700m² large area for ancillary plants bought.
1973
Stamina requested: The development of the spunbond technology begins – it will last 12 years.
1971
Reiloy Metall is established as an expert for highly wear-resistant screws and barrels.

Change to the third generation: Klaus and Ulrich Reifenhäuser take over the management of the company.
1995
At the forefront also with used machinery: Reifenhäuser demerges Polyrema.
2000
A separate company for tapes and monofilaments: Reifenhäuser demerges Reimotec.
2004
Clear course towards growth and globalisation: Reifenhäuser adopts a holding structure.
2005
Nonwoven lines on the road to success: Reifenhäuser demerges the synthetic fibre division and establishes the independent Reicofil company.

All film activities are bundled: Reifenhäuser founds Reifenhäuser Extrusion.
2008
Shaping the future: Reifenhäuser invests over 30 million euro and establishes the largest privately operated technology center for research and development in the plastics extrusion industry.
2009
Best of Two for blown film lines: In the midst of the financial and economic crisis, Reifenhäuser acquires its former Worms-based competitor Kiefel Extrusion, and establishes the joint company Reifenhäuser Kiefel Extrusion.
2011
Reifenhäuser celebrates its 100th anniversary.
2012
Consistent continuation of the restructuring process: The two business units of Reifenhäuser Extrusion are divided into the independent companies Reifenhäuser Cast Sheet Coating and Reifenhäuser Extrusion Technology.
2012
Strengthening the North American market for screws and barrels: Reifenhäuser acquires Wichita-based Westland Corporation which becomes a part of the Business Unit Reiloy and operates under the name Reiloy Westland.
2013
Reifenhäuser acquires the Italian winder manufacturer Nuova Protex. The company operates as of now under the name Reimotec Winding Technology as part of the Business Unit Reimotec.

Reifenhäuser invests further 20 million Euro in the expansion of the Technology Center
2014
Reifenhäuser invests in the revitalization of its administraiton building in Troisdorf: Outstanding aechitecture and functional space for new workplaces.
2015
Effective April 16, 2015, the Reifenhäuser Group acquires the German spinneret manufacturer and longstanding supplier Enka Tecnica.
2017
Foundation of the new business unit Reifehäuser Digital. Intelligent production thanks to Industry 4.0 - continuation of digital transformation.
2018
The Reifenhäuser Group takes over EDS GmbH, specialist for flat dies with headquarters in Reichshof-Wenrath, and increases its know-how in the components business.
