Coating die-heads
Cross head extrusion
Reifenhäuser supplies die heads for the coating of steel pipes with diameters between 1 " - 21". Along with the established spindle sleeve distributor design, 2-layered die heads with spiral distributors / spindle sleeve combinations are also available.
These allow the tie layer and a PE/PP outer layer to be applied in one manufacturing
step.
Side extrusion
Coating is done by wrapping the pipe with an extruded plastic sheet and a simultaneously fed hot-melt adhesive.
Reifenhäuser supplies suitable extruders and die-heads for both adhesive extrusion as well as outer layer extrusion.
Slot die-heads with nominal diameters between 300 - 1200 mm can be supplied (in gradations of 50 mm). Special sizes can be made to order.
The flexibility to use different raw materials is a result of different designs, which, depending on the application, are fitted with a flexlip and/or a restrictor bar.
