Research and development are central parts of Reifenhäuser’s corporate philosophy. They reflect the company’s consistent orientation towards the marketplace and its focus on changing customer requirements.Reifenhäuser daily faces the challenge to be better than the competition. The Reifenhäuser Laboratory in Troisdorf fulfils ahe lines in the Laboratory under production conditions.
For example, a great number of employees of the company group is exclusively engaged in the development of future-oriented machinery and line concepts.
The Troisdorf Technology Centre, one of the largest privately operated technology centres for plastics processing worldwide, is the core of Reifenhäuser’s R&D expertise. The know-how of the company has been concentrated on more than 1000 sqm floor space of a 29 m high hall to enable faster development and implementation of market-conforming extrusion solutions worldwide.
To this end, complete lines, individual line components, special raw material formulations or completey new processes are subjected to tests under real production conditions. These tests are permanently analysed by Reifenhäuser experts who use the assessed data to optimize lines and components. As a result, customers and potential buyers can witness the efficiency of ”their“ lines under real production conditions already in a test run.
The Reifenhäuser Technology Centre is constantly upgraded to enable fast response to specific market situations and customer requirements; currently, the company is investing again in the latest state-of-the-art process technologies.
All measures will have been completed until the K show so that they can be demonstrated to the expected stream of visitors.
Two blown film lines for 3 layers and one for 5 layers, as well as a 5-layer cast film line and a thermoforming sheet line will be installed to be ready for demonstration to customers and for tests by October.
