For us, sustainability also means to take social responsibility for our employees, for future generations and the regions we are active in. As a successful company we want to give part of our success back to society. To this end, Reifenhäuser is involved in projects in and outside the region. A special emphasis is on the promotion of children and youth.
The multi-generational center is a place where young and old people of different origins and cultures can meet up in order to understand and help each other, break down fear of contact, achieve better mutual understanding, and overcome social and age-related barriers. Reifenhäuser supports the facility both in financial terms, and through personal involvement in projects.
"It is important to us that we are present to assist with tasks, and are personally available for development and support throughout all stages of the various projects. We don't want to be 'merely' a donor; we also want to get involved."

Helping others to help themselves: To enable young Africans to establish themselves in a profession in their own country, Reifenhäuser is assisting the Troisdorf-based Green Helmets in setting up a car repair shop in Senegal. Upon completion, the car repair shop will serve as a training facility for Senegalese car mechanics, thereby offering young Africans the opportunity to become qualified in a trade with a promising future. In addition to a donation of €40,000, Reifenhäuser is granting leave to qualified employees wishing to collaborate on the project in Senegal for three months.
Counseling, homework supervision, evening events for boys and girls, trips, holiday programs, prevention of violence: The AWO children's and youth center is a sort of open living room, which is visited by about 50 children every day. Reifenhäuser has been supporting the center's valuable work since 2014 with donations and personal volunteer efforts.
Doing good together: So that nobody falls through the social net, the nonprofit Troisdorf Child Foundation helps socially and materially disadvantaged children and young people by means of projects and individual support. Reifenhäuser supports the Foundation both in financial terms and through involvement in projects.
Inspiring enthusiasm among school children for the STEM subjects at an early age, teaching children how to work methodically, promoting team skills and language learning - these are the key objectives of the 'TuWaS!' project ('Technik und NaturWissenschaften an Schulen' – or in English TASS: Technology and Science at Schools). By donating to the project, Reifenhäuser is enabling Troisdorf schools to repeatedly participate in the project for lively primary education in science and technology.
Troisdorfer Tafel (Troisdorf Table) collects surplus and overproduced food for distribution to people in need, free of charge. The initiative is aimed at people who are living at subsistence level, low-income pensioners, single parents, welfare beneficiaries, addicts, and others. Reifenhäuser supports this important assistance with a regular monthly donation.
Those who want to know more about the relationship and mutual interaction of the industrial development, history of individual commercial enterprises, outstanding entrepreneurial personalities, and the development of the industrial city of Troisdorf, should visit the Museum of Industrial History in Troisdorf. By the way, next to it you will find the Storybook Museum, unique in Europe and worth a visit, too.
Reifenhäuser supports the National Scholarship Program of the University of Bonn-Rhein-Sieg. The program addresses students who have distinguished themselves by excellent achievements. This year, Reifenhäuser is promoting four students.
