The Reitruder has a
modular design. The barrel and
screws can therefore be
assembled in any combination to
construct a plasticising unit
with raw material infeed
and venting. The two
parallel, co-rotating screws
closely intermesh and are
self-cleaning. They are divided
into segments. This enables the
screw geometry to be adapted to
the respective application. The
order in which kneading and
mixing elements are arranged can
be freely selected, depending on
the formulation. The screw
segments and screw shaft are
form-fit. Therefore individual
segments can easily be replaced
and thus ideally be adapted to
the respective material.
In comparison with other
procedures, the advantages of
direct extrusion by means of a
Reitruder mainly lie in the
profitability and the quality
standards of semi-finished
products and finished products.
The reason is obvious: In the
Reitruder, the plastic is
processed from source material
to final product in one
production process, without
intermediate solidifying and
remelting. Compared with
pre-mixed compounds, direct
extrusion thus saves you up to
30 % in raw material costs and
simultaneously provides improved
product properties.
